The late morning sun casts a shadow over the ancient remains of
the Acropolis, once the tallest in the Spartan hills. Close your eyes
and listen to the magical silence of what was once a powerful Greek
city for over 400 years.
Our journey through the history and culture of the Mani
Peninsula takes us south to the pretty coastal village of Gerolimenas,
to Ancient Sparta and the spectacular Caves of Diros. At Ancient
Corinth a visit to the museum with treasures discovered from the
site is a must.
We’ll walk through the quiet countryside dotted with small
hamlets and villages, along coastal paths which may end with an
afternoon swim or stroll on a secluded beach. One day we will
experience traditional Greek life with a visit to an olive farm, see
cheese made by methods little changed since the days od the ancients, and enjoy tasting at a winery.
Local tavernas provide the setting for dinner each evening with
ample opportunity to enjoy different dishes and wines.
